What an amazing weekend it’s been! Over two days, MSSA, in collaboration with MOVE Malta, Project Green, MSA, and our local partners, brought energy, creativity, and community spirit to two exciting events as part of MOVE Week 2025—celebrating movement, youth, and the power of public spaces.
Friday: Place-Making at Żejtun Skatepark
Thanks to Project Green and with the support of MOVE and the Żejtun Local Council, we kicked off the weekend with a dynamic place-making activity at the Żejtun Skatepark. Youths came together for a hands-on transformation of their space:
🎨 Graffiti the Skatepark – Young artists took over the space with fresh, vibrant murals.
🎨 Ramp Painting – Our old ramps got a facelift, bringing new life to the park.
🛹 Co-Design the New Skatepark – Youth were actively involved in planning the future layout of a brand-new skatepark, contributing ideas and visions for a more youth-friendly, inclusive space.
This event perfectly embodied the three recommendations of our Pump It project:
✅ Co-create cities with young people
✅ Prioritize infrastructure for active lifestyles
✅ Strengthen partnerships with NGOs
It was a true celebration of empowerment through action!

Saturday: Festa Fjuri x MOVE Week in Iklin
On Saturday morning, we joined Festa Fjuri in Iklin to celebrate MOVE Week with a vibrant street sport jam. Youth from all over joined us to try out BMX and skateboarding, guided by our team and friends from MSA.
The excitement and smiles were proof that giving young people a chance to move, try something new, and be part of a community can make a lasting impact.

Both events reminded us of the importance of inclusive, youth-driven public spaces. We’re proud to be part of this movement and look forward to more weekends filled with action, art, and community spirit!
