On September 11th, MSSA and Move officially kicked off our new Erasmus+ Sport project, Take It to the Streets, with an energetic and collaborative event at the Birżebbuġa Skatepark. This first activity brought together youth, local artists, and members of the community to continue our mission of involving youth to turn public spaces into creative, active, and inclusive environments.
Together, we organised a graffiti workshop with the help of local graffiti artist Cooker and participating youth, giving the skatepark a fresh look. A brand-new ramp was also installed, offering improved infrastructure for BMX, scooter, and skateboarding practice, and setting the tone for what’s to come.
The day also served as a planning session where we engaged attendees in discussing the upcoming six street sport events that will happen across Malta starting in January. This was more than just a jam—it was a statement: that public spaces belong to the community and can be shaped by its youth.
Stay tuned as we roll out more updates and get ready to take it to the streets! Co-funded by the European Union
