The opening of the Paola Skatepark marked a historic milestone for street sports in Malta, as the island officially welcomed its first professional, purpose-built skatepark. The opening weekend was a true celebration of community, sport, and years of dedication coming to life.

The event brought together riders, families, partners, and supporters, transforming the space into a vibrant hub of activity from the very first moment. Seeing the skatepark come alive with BMX riders, skateboarders, and young people enjoying the space was a powerful reminder of how important accessible public spaces are for youth development, active lifestyles, and community building.
This project would not have been possible without the collaboration and commitment of key stakeholders. A heartfelt thank you goes to Hon. Chris Bonett, Hon. Miriam Dalli, Steve Ellul, Infrastructure Malta, and the Paola Local Council for their vision and support in making this project a reality.
Special recognition also goes to Jesmond Mugliett Periti and Mind Work Ramps for delivering a high-quality, professional facility that meets international standards and provides a safe and progressive environment for all users.
The Paola Skatepark represents years of advocacy, planning, and collaboration between MSSA and its partners. It stands as a clear example of how investment in public infrastructure can create long-lasting impact — offering a space where young people can express themselves, stay active, and connect with others.
As the community begins to take ownership of the space, MSSA looks forward to supporting its growth through events, workshops, and ongoing engagement. The opening weekend may be over, but this is only the beginning for what Paola Skatepark will represent in the years to come.
