The Pump It project, launched in 2024 by Move Malta and The Malta Street Sport Alliance, has been a groundbreaking initiative that brought street sports to the forefront of community engagement across Malta. Through a series of dynamic street sport shows and workshops throughout the year, the project showcased the vibrancy, talent, and potential of Malta’s street sport scene while inspiring communities to embrace a healthier, more active lifestyle. Here are our policy recommodations gathered from the youth through out the project:

A Year of Unforgettable Events
Pump It transformed public spaces into arenas of energy and connection. Across Malta, we organized events that featured thrilling demonstrations and interactive sessions in BMX, skateboarding, scooter riding, parkour, street basketball, and more. Here are some highlights from our journey:
These events weren’t just a roadshow performances—they were hands on immersive experiences. youths became participants as they tried out street sports for the first time. They were encouraged to step outside their comfort zones, learning new skills under the guidance of experienced athletes and coaches.
Impact on the Street Sport Community
The Pump It project revitalized Malta’s street sport community, creating a ripple effect of enthusiasm and growth:

As we close the chapter on the 2024 Pump It series, we’re already looking to the future. The success of this initiative has reaffirmed our commitment to empowering street sports and fostering community spirit.
