on the 8th of January Paola came alive with energy, movement, and community spirit as MSSA delivered a dynamic Street Sport Show in celebration of the European Town of Sport launch. Held in the heart of the town at Pjazza Antoine De Paule, the event transformed the square into a vibrant hub of activity, showcasing the power of street sports to bring people together.

The day featured an exciting mix of disciplines, including BMX, skateboarding, scooter, parkour, and breaking, with athletes and riders of all levels taking part. From experienced performers to first-time participants, the event created an inclusive environment where everyone had the opportunity to engage, try something new, and be part of the action. Families, young people, and passers-by all contributed to an atmosphere filled with positivity and shared enthusiasm for sport.

This event was made possible through the collaboration of Paola Local Council and MSSA’s partners, including Move Malta, Malta Skateboarding Association, Rush Parkour Malta, and Street Elements. Their collective effort ensured the success of the initiative and highlighted the importance of partnerships in activating public spaces.

More than just a showcase, the event demonstrated how urban spaces can be reimagined as active, inclusive environments that promote wellbeing and community connection. As Paola celebrates its recognition as a European Town of Sport, this event stands as a strong example of how sport can transform public spaces and inspire people of all ages to get involved.
