The 4th Edition of the Urban Sports Festival, held between September 12–14, 2025, transformed the Birżebbuġa Skatepark into a vibrant hub of athleticism, culture, and community. Organised by the Malta Street Sport Alliance (MSSA) in collaboration with Malta Skateboarding Association, Rush Parkour, Street Elements, Move Malta, The Malta Trust Foundation, Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, and the Birżebbuġa Local Council, this year’s edition reached new heights — with 195 competitors, including over 30 international athletes, across BMX, Skateboarding, Scooter, Parkour, Breaking (Dance), 3×3 Basketball, Panna, and for the first time, Inline Skating.

This year’s edition truly reflected the growing level of talent, passion, and community spirit surrounding urban sports in Malta. The mix of local and international athletes brought a unique energy to Birżebbuġa Skatepark, pushing the level of competition higher than ever before. Over the three days, the festival became a vibrant celebration of sport, culture, and youth — from high-level battles and technical tricks to workshops and try-outs that welcomed newcomers into the scene. The presence of foreign athletes not only raised the competitive standard but also helped create cultural exchanges and lasting friendships, strengthening Malta’s position as a destination for urban sports.

🚀 Looking Ahead
The festival continues to grow, both in scale and impact. In collaboration with The Malta Trust Foundation, plans are underway to upgrade the Birżebbuġa Skatepark to international standards, creating a lasting legacy for Malta’s youth and positioning the island as a true hub for urban sports.
