This weekend we will have available for the first time MSSA merchandise at our stand during the SPORTS FEST in San Pawl il-Baħar this Saturday 15th July. The sales of the t-shirts will go directly to funding a new ramp we plan to install together with MSA at Mcast Paola. We wanted to come up with something fun and easy to use which is not found in any skateparks currently in Malta, so we came up with the idea to install a Grind rail Fun Box.
So to launch this idea and help us fund the ramp and also the regeneration of the area, we will be selling MSSA T-shirts during the event this weekend. Each T-shirt costs €20 and is available in Black and White, we have Small, Medium and Large t-shirts available. There is limited stock, so make sure to get your hands on them before they go! See you this weekend at the event, below is some more information on what to expect.
The event will feature 13 different kind of sports – Skateboarding , BMX , Scooter , Inline Rollerblades , 1v1 Football , street basketball , Volleyball , Parkour , Street Dance , Stand Up Paddle, Olympic Wrestling, Sailing, a Fun Run & a 5K Run dedicated to the memory of Dr.Victor Calvagna. All proceeds of the event will be donated to Puttinu Cares in his honour.
We will have try-outs and competitions throughout, with dedicated coaches for each sport. Activities will span from the 5 a-side pitch to the square and even in the bay! For registrations, please follow this link – https://forms.gle/VweSUyoqqtcepBTT8
This event is family friendly, with a number of challenges and activities for all ages. A kids-themed obstacle course will also make its debut. We also have some surprises we will announce – watch this space!
Interactive stalls featuring local companies, healthy living, environmental awareness, fitness & art workshops and many more!
Whether you would like to come watch the show, try your luck at a challenge, get artsy or get your sports equipment and have a try out – the St.Paul’s Bay Sport Fest is definitely a night you would not want to miss!
This event is also the first phase into creating a professional skatepark in Buggiba, the Saint Paul’s Local council this month approved the construction of the above skatepark. The wood for this skatepark will be provided by Regjun Tramuntana, through the wood that was planned to be used for the Street Idols Festival skatepark that was postponed due to covid. With the help of the Malta Skateboarding Assocation, the Saint Paul’s Local Council identified a location near the Aquiarium that can be used for this skatepark. We are very excited to finally find the location for the material we brought to malta in 2019, which has been sitting in a garage since then.
This is not the only skatepark that we have planned for this year! Together with the Buggiba Skatepark, we are currently in the final stages of confirming the desing for another skatepark in Paola. Both Skateparks will be done by the end of the year. Here is a littel sneak speak of the Paola Skatepark. This will be the first professional skatepark that includes the features and ramps needed to have sports like BMX, Skateboarding, Scooter and Inline progress. We are really looking forward to seeing these projects materialize, big thanks to the Team and the Malta Skateboarding Assocation for helping us provide the neccesary facilities and events needed to push our scene and community further.
Stay tuned, we will have more updates available.
