The Urban Sports Festival, a celebration of street sports and urban culture, unfolded over three exhilarating days from September 29th to October 1st. Organized by MSSA in collaboration with Birzebbuga Local Council , Malta Tourism Authority , The Malta Trust Foundation , Aġenzija Żgħażagħ , MSA – Malta Skateboarding Association , Street Elements Hiphop Artists, Elementi, LEAP SQUAD – Malta Parkour & Freerunning, MOVE and MIB Crew.
Day 1 marked the festival’s beginning, and it didn’t disappoint. The day commenced with registration and wristband collection, ensuring a seamless experience for all. The action-packed schedule featured competitions in BMX, Skateboarding and Scooter which were organised by MSSA and MSA, while Street Elements took care of the Dance competitions. Day 2 brought even more excitement to the festival grounds. Move Malta Coaches started off The 3×3 Basketball while MSSA and MSA judges took care of the Scooter, Skateboarding, and BMX competitions with Hosts Chris “Seapuppy” Yansen for Skateboarding and Max Henning from Germany for BMX. The athletes wowed the crowd and the hosts got the crowed excited to push all the athletes.

The Urban Sports Festival concluded with a spectacular final day. Leap Squad took care of the Parkour competitions, Move Malta organised the Panna, and Street Elements organised the Dance competitions, which showcased remarkable skills and talents

The festival wrapped up with a sense of accomplishment and unity. The festival also welcomed international BMX athletes Matthias from Germany and David and Julian from Colombia, who attended the event for the second time. Joining them for the first time was Max Henning, a well-renowned BMX host who hosted the BMX Competition on Saturday. Their presence showcased the festival’s growing appeal to tourists and its ability to attract global talents.
The second edition of the Urban Sports Festival exceeded all expectations. It united the street sports community, nurtured the growth of young talents, and showcased extraordinary skills. It was a platform for athletes to shine and for enthusiasts to witness the magic of urban sports and to showcase Malta as a ideal host for these sort of events.
